Mary Todd Lincoln (1818-1882)
Mary Todd was raised in Lexington, Kentucky. She married Abraham Lincoln in 1842 and settled in Springfield, Illinois. The couple had four sons, Robert, Edward, William, and Thomas. Mary Todd Lincoln became first lady when her husband served as the sixteenth president of the U.S. from 1861-1865.
