The Boston Tea Party
The Sons of Liberty joined Sam Adams to destroy British tea in Boston Harbor. At the time of this incident, tea ranked fourth among all British exports to America. These actions led to the passage of Coercive Acts designed to punish the rebellious Massachusetts patriots which resulted in a strong wave of anti-British and nationalist sentiment that helped lead the colonies and Great Britain closer to war.
