Daniel Kimball Pearsons (1820-1912)
Pearsons graduated from Vermont Medical College in 1841 and began practicing medicine in Chicopee, Massachusetts. However, in 1851 he sold his practice and began a profitable career in business. He made a fortune selling farm land for the Illinois Central Railroad Company and many others. He died at ninety-two, having divested himself of all his possessions except a small annuity and regarding himself as one of the happiest men in the world.
