Albert Pike (1809-1891)
He was a poet, and a newspaper publisher. Although he was raised in Massachusetts, he was a brigadier general in the Confederate army in charge of three Indian regiments in his adopted state of Arkansas. A prominent freemason, his writings on the movement include Morals and Dogma of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry.
