Truman Addresses Congress
On March 12, 1947 President Harry Truman addresses Congress to propose a new American policy which will afterwards become known as the Truman Doctrine. Because of Soviet interference in the affairs of Greece and Turkey, America will send aid to them in an effort to combat the spread of Communism.
