Edward Payson Roe (1838-1888)

Roe was an American author and clergyman who became famous after the publication of Barriers Burned Away, a novel that he wrote after visiting Chicago while the embers were still smoldering from the 1871 fire. He would write seventeen novels, all of them became bestsellers.
