"Battle of Buena Vista"
Here is a depiction of troops assembling for battle at Buena Vista during the Mexican War. This was Major General Zachary Taylor's greatest victory of the Mexican War. After tough fighting, the Mexican army withdrew leaving him in control of Northern Mexico. This hand-colored lithograph was engraved by Frances Palmer "from a sketch taken on the spot by Major (Joseph Horace) Eaton , aid de camp to Genl. Taylor." The print was published in 1847 by Henry R. Robinson.
