General Taylor at Buena Vista

General Zachary Taylor is depicted here on horseback behind the lines during the Battle of Buena Vista. This was Major General Zachary Taylor's greatest victory of the Mexican War. After tough fighting, the Mexican army withdrew leaving him in control of Northern Mexico.
