Charles Frederick Crisp (1845-1896)
Charles Frederick Crisp was a Democratic congressman from Georgia who served from 1882 until his death. As a young man, he fought for the Confederates in the Civil War and spent a year as a prisoner of war. Crisp, an excellent parliamentarian, was the speaker of the house from 1891 until 1895.
