Andrew Gregg Curtin (1815-1894)

Andrew Gregg Curtin was the Republican governor of Pennsylvania during the Civil War who led his state's unswerving loyalty to the Union. President Grant appointed him as a minister to Russia in 1869. Curtin served as a Democratic representative in Congress from 1881 until 1887.
