Ben W. Hooper (1870-1957)
Ben Hooper was the governor of Tennessee from 1911-1915. During the Spanish-American War he served in Puerto Rico as captain of Company C, 6th U.S. Volunteer Infantry. Hooper published his autobiography, "An Unwanted Boy," in 1963. He was placed in an orphanage at age seven.
