Henry Wadsworth Longfellow (1807-1882)

Popular American poet. Some of Longfellow's sonnets and other lyrics are still among the finest in American poetry, and "Hiawatha," “The Wreck of the Hesperus,” "Evangeline," and “Paul Revere's Ride” have become part of the American canon.
