Henry Larcom Abbot (1831-1927)

Engineer with the U.S. Army corps of engineers. Abbot commanded the siege artillery of the Union Army in operations against Petersburg and Richmond and his work earned him the brevet rank of major general, U.S. volunteers. This photo dates from his years at West Point.
