Henry Cabot Lodge (1850-1924)

Henry Cabot Lodge was a Republican congressman from Massachusetts from 1887 to 1893 and a U.S. senator from 1893 to 1924. In 1876, Lodge became the first person to earn a Ph.D. in political science from Harvard. He was opposed to America joining the League of Nations as proposed by President Woodrow Wilson.
