Franklin MacVeagh (1837-1934)

Franklin MacVeagh was the secretary of the treasury under President William Howard Taft. MacVeagh was active in Chicago reform politics and was a trustee of the University of Chicago from 1901 to 1913. MacVeagh was the owner of one of America's largest wholesale grocery establishments.
