Grover Cleveland
President Grover Cleveland is shown here front and center on the grandstand during a reception in Kansas City, which was part of his 1887 presidential tour. Cleveland became the first Democratic president in twenty-four years when he took office in 1885. He was the only president to serve in nonconsecutive terms, serving first from 1885 to 1889 and then again from 1893 to 1897.
