Daniel Manning (1831-1887)
Daniel Manning was a Democratic political leader in New York state. For ten years, 1874-84, he was a member of the state Democratic committee and of every state Democratic convention. From 1881 to 1884 he was chairman of the state committee. Manning was appointed secretary of the treasury by Grover Cleveland in 1885.
