Alton B. Parker (1852-1926)
Alton Brooks Parker was a lawyer and jurist who was active in Democratic politics in New York state. He was a justice of the New York supreme court (188589) and (189294) and chief judge of the court of appeals (18971904). As a jurist he became noted for his liberal decisions in labor cases. He received the Democratic party nomination for the 1904 U.S. presidential election but was soundly defeated by Theodore Roosevelt.
