Execution of the Lincoln Conspirators

Two images mounted together depict the execution of the Lincoln conspirators in the Capitol Prison, Washington, DC, July 6, 1865. Mary Surratt, Lewis Powell, David Herold, and George Atzerodt are prepared for their execution as conspirators in the murder of Abraham Lincoln. The corpses of the four condemned hang after the execution.
