Tad Lincoln in Union Soldier's Uniform

Thomas Lincoln was born on April 4, 1853, the fourth son of Abraham and Mary Todd Lincoln, named after his paternal grandfather, but nicknamed "Tadpole" or Tad. He was often at his father's side while Lincoln attended to presidential matters. Tad died at age eighteen on July 15, 1871, presumably from tuberculosis.
