Lorenzo Sawyer (1820-1891)
Sawyer was a California pioneer, lawyer and jurist. He settled in California in 1850 and after working in the gold mines, began a long legal career. He served as a judge on the California state supreme court and as a U.S. circuit judge for the 9th circuit.
