FDR, Assistant Secretary of the Navy
Because of his strong support for Woodrow Wilson in 1912, Franklin Roosevelt was rewarded with the position of assistant secretary of the Navy. Here he stands, at right, in June, 1913 next to secretary of the Navy, Josephus Daniels (in dark jacket) and Woodrow Wilson (in dark jacket and white pants). The man in the white suit is Wilson's secretary of state, William Jennings Bryan.
