Trinity Church and Martyrs' Monument
Here is the cathedral-like Trinity Church with its steeple reaching two hundred eighty-four feet, in an etching that was published in "Appletons' Journal." Martyrs' Monument in the church graveyard was erected in memory of American patriots who died in prisons while New York was under British rule.
