Robert Leighton Stuart (1806-1882)

Robert Leighton Stuart was a philanthropist who had made his fortune in sugar refineries. Stuart gave generously to Presbyterian institutions including Princeton College and Theological Seminary and the Presbyterian Hospital. He was the president of the American Museum of Natural History from from 1872 to 1881.
