Allen Granberry Thurman (1813-1895)

Allen Granberry Thurman was a Democratic U.S. congressman from 1845-47, an associate justice of the supreme court of Ohio from 1851-54, the chief justice of the supreme court of Ohio from 1854-56, and a U.S. senator from 1869-81. He was appointed a member of the Electoral Commission to decide the contests in various states in the presidential election of 1876.
