Horace Greeley (1811-1872)

Here is Horace Greeley as he looked in the late 1860s, around the time of the publication of "Recollections of a Busy Life", one of the great autobiographies of the nineteenth century. He is wearing the garment that gave him the affectionate nickname "Old White Coat."
