Douglas Freeman (1886-1953)
Douglas Southall Freeman was an American historian, author, editor, and journalist who resided in Richmond, Virginia. Freeman won the Pulitzer Prize for his biographies of Robert E. Lee and George Washington. He edited the "Richmond News Leader" from 1915 to 1949, and reported the daily news as a radio broadcaster.
