Cornelius Vanderbilt II (1843-1899)

Cornelius Vanderbilt was the son of William Henry Vanderbilt and the favorite grandson and namesake of the family patriarch, Cornelius Vanderbilt. He was a major figure in the management of the growing American railroad system and contributed greatly to railroad expansion in the eastern half of the United States during the industrial revolution.
