Princess Victoria shortly before her Accession

This engraving by James Bromley from a painting by George Hayter shows Princess Victoria shortly before her accession to the throne. It is from a grouping of "Life Portraits of Queen Victoria." The eighteen year old Princess was summoned to Windsor Castle on June 20, 1837, after the death of William IV.
