Charles Tyson Yerkes (1837-1905)
Charles Tyson Yerkes was an American railway financier who made and lost several fortunes and in 1899 was forced to sell out in Chicago after allegations of political chicanery. In 1892 he presented the Yerkes Observatory to the University of Chicago.
