John Whetten Ehninger (1827-1889)

John Whetten Ehninger was an American artist who had his first popular success with, "Peter Stuyvesant," illustrating an incident in Washington Irving's History of New York. He graduated from Columbia College in 1847 and was a member of the National Academy of Design in New York City.
