James Biddle (1832-1922)
James Biddle was a Union soldier who was brevetted Brigadier General for service at Richmond, Kentucky and Nashville, Tennessee, during the Civil War. His wife, Ellen McGowan Biddle, wrote Reminiscences of a Soldier's Wife (1907). He served in the regular United States Army until he retired in 1896 as Colonel of the 9th United States Cavalry.
