Erastus Blakeslee (1838-1908)
Erastus Blakeslee was the only Brigadier General from Connecticut who had enlisted as a private and held every rank from second lieutenant up. He graduated from Yale and Andover Seminary and was ordained as a Congregational pastor. He became a prominent figure in religious education.
