James C. Briscoe

James C. Briscoe was a soldier in the Union army who served in the 1st New York, 40th New York, 199th Pennsylvania, and 188th Pennsylvania, and rose though the ranks as a Private, Sergeant, 2nd Lieutenant, 1st Lieutenant, Captain, Major, Colonel, and Brevet Brigadier General, U.S. Volunteers. He was born in Ireland and died in 1869.
