Martin Burke
Martin Burke entered the regular army in 1820 and fought in both the Seminole War and the Mexican War. Burke was Lieutenant Colonel of the 3rd U.S. Artillery and commanded the narrows of New York Harbor during the Civil War. He was brevetted Brigadier General, U.S. Volunteers. He died in 1882.
