Albemarle Cady (1807-1888)
Albemarle Cady graduated 24th in the West Point class of 1829 and then served in the Seminole War, on the frontier, and in the Mexican War. At the outbreak of the Civil War he was Lieutenant Colonel of the 7th U.S. Infantry. He commanded the District of Oregon and served in the Department of the Pacific before retiring as a result of poor health as Colonel of the 8th U.S. Infantry. He was brevetted Brigadier General, U.S. Volunteers.
