Alexander Chambers (1832-1888)
Alexander Chambers graduated from West Point in 1853 and fought in the Seminole War. During the Civil War he was Colonel of the 16th Iowa and led this regiment at Shiloh where he was twice wounded, first at the siege of Corinth, and secondly at Iuka, where he was severely wounded. He was appointed Brigadier General, U.S. Volunteers.
