Edwin Francis Cooke (1835-1867)
Edwin Francis Cooke was a Union soldier who served as Captain and Major of the 2nd New York Cavalry. Cooke served as chief of staff of General Kilpatrick's cavalry division and was taken prisoner when his horse was shot from under him in the Kilpatrick-Dahlgren Raid from the West in 1864. He was brevetted Brigadier General, Volunteers.
