George Crook (1829-1890)
George Crook graduated from West Point in 1852 and served as Colonel of the 36th Ohio Infantry at the outbreak of the Civil War and was promoted to Brigadier General and Major General. After the war he earned a reputation as the most successful Indian fighter the army ever produced.
