George Custer with Wife and Brother

George Armstrong Custer is shown here with his wife, Mrs. Libbie Custer and his brother, Thomas Ward Custer. Custer, at the age of 23, was the youngest general in the Union army. He is probably remembered most for Little Big Horn, where he and his troops were massacred by the Sioux in 1876. His brother, also a fine cavalryman, died with him at Little Big Horn.
