Thomas Duncan (1819-1887)
Thomas Duncan fought in the Black Hawk War, entered the regular army in 1846, and then fought in the Mexican War. During the Civil War he was stationed in the West and promoted to Colonel of the 3rd U.S. Cavalry. He was wounded at Albuquerque, New Mexico, and retired in 1873 as Lieutenant Colonel 5th U.S. Cavalry and Brevet Brigadier General.
