Warren Hardin's Inauguration

Warren G. Harding, shown here at his inauguration in 1921, was a small-town newspaper publisher who had campaigned on a promise to restore "normalcy" to America. After the vigorous international leadership of Woodrow Wilson, Americans seemed to want to go back to "good old days" of peace and quiet.
