Clarence Darrow (1857-1938)

Clarence Darrow was an American lawyer who gained a reputation for his successful defense of the underdog. He was a staunch opponent of the death penalty and fought successfully against that sentence for his clients, but is more commonly remembered for his defense in the Scopes evolution trial.
