General Martin T. McMahon

This brevet major general was awarded the Medal of Honor during the Civil War. At White Oak Swamp while under enemy fire, he successfully destroyed a train to prevent it from falling into the hands of the enemy. He was named the U.S. minister to Paraguay in 1868.
