Main Street, Sharpsburg

This is Main street in Sharpsburg, Maryland, near where the Battle of Antietam took place in September of 1862. The street is also known as the Boonsborough Turnpike. We are looking northwest. This is one of only three known photographs of Sharpsburg taken in 1862.
