General Don Carlos Buell (1818-1898)
Don Carlos Buell graduated from West Point in 1841 and fought bravely in the Mexican war being wounded in action. Buell was a Union general at the outbreak of the Civil War, but he was relieved of his command for being too deliberate and cautious and was discharged with the rank of Major General, U.S. Volunteers.
