The Gadsden Flag

Commodore Esek Hopkins used this flag in his first fleet command during the Revolutionary War. It is often associated with Christopher Gadsden, a delegate to the Second Continental Congress, who presented the flag to the Provincial Congress of South Carolina on Friday, February 9, 1776.
