Mrs. Marie Wilkins was a comedic actress who married a prominent barrister in London. She made her debut at the Haymarket Theatre in London as Widow Green in "Love Chase" (1858). Wilkins played the same part in New York, at Wallack's Theatre, in 1863. The actress performed primarily at the Union Square Theatre in New York
in 1874 Wilkins was in "The Two Orphans;" she played the lead in Oscar Wilde's "Vera the Nihilist" during the 1883-84 season; and she was Mrs. Jarvis in "The Lights O' London" in 1881.The actress Marie Wilkins is shown here with an unidentified man in a carte de visite photograph by C.
