Wagon Train Along the Oregon Trail

In this extraordinary photograph horses and covered wagons head west along the Oregon Trail at Bessemer Bend in Wyoming. It was taken by William H. Jackson, a photographer accompanying the Hayden Survey of the Territories for the U.S. Geological and Geographical Survey.
