Elizabeth Gurney Fry (1780-1845)
Elizabeth Fry was an British prison reformer, Quaker minister and philanthropist. She worked to improve the conditions for women in Newgate and other prisons and founded soup kitchens in London. This is a carte de visite photograph of an engraving.
